The Leapfrog Group announced the updated rates of Early Elective Deliveries as reported on the 2013 Leapfrog Hospital Survey. We are pleased to announce that the national rate of early elective deliveries dropped for the second year. Early elective deliveries have been decreasing since 2010 when Leapfrog became the first to publicly report hospital rates. In 2013, 71 percent of the reporting hospitals met Leapfrog’s early elective deliveries target rate of less than 5 percent, compared to 46 percent of hospitals in the 2012 survey.
