As part of our launch and promotion plan, CDC formed partnerships with several organizations that expressed strong interest in assisting with the promotion and dissemination of the new site. Those partners include organizations such as the National Business Group on Health, National Business Coalition on Health, Partnership for Prevention, and Society for Human Resource Management.
ABOUT DR. BATAN Marilyn Batan is a Public Health Analyst with the Guidelines Development and Recommendations Team in the Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Obesity at the CDC. She has worked on developing Community Guide recommendations and promising practices for the worksite obesity review. Currently, she is translating and disseminating evidence-based promising practices into website products and messages for small and medium-sized businesses to assess, design, and implement effective employee obesity prevention and control programs. Ms. Batan holds a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and a master of public health from Virginia Commonwealth University. Before joining CDC, she worked for Virginia Governors Mark Warner and Tim Kaine as a fellow on their 'Healthy Virginians' Initiative and special assistant for Secretary Tavenner during the 2006 legislative session. |
